Passport is a Ministry Community Children Social Services program, which provides individualized funding to certain individuals so that they may purchase supports to help them be more active in the community.
A family may choose to have CLIF manage the Passport funding and activities.
Here are some examples of the activities that many individuals enjoy using their Passport funding to do:
- Swimming at the local pool, bowling, or participating in a sport indoor or outdoor of your choice
- Attending hockey games, or any sporting event both local and out of town
- Attending concerts both local and out of town
- Going to the movies or shopping or participating in exercise groups
- Support staff can help you increase your skills in areas such as cooking, crafts, using a computer, etc
- Furthering education through college courses or online, attending workshops
- Accessing community resources such as bingo, library visits, shopping, restaurant outings
- Following goals and ideas that are identified in Individual Support Plans
- Passport can also be used for Supported Employment, Supported Independent Living, and/or Life Skills
Your passport funding can also cover your transportation costs ex: bus pass, mileage
