Life Skills, Supported Independent Living, and Supported Employment Programs all in one.

Life Skills is a program designed to meet the needs of individuals in all areas of everyday living. The ‘term’ Life Skills refers to the skills you need to make the most out of life. Support staff provides assistance and resources to the individual in any skill that is seen as useful, in other words, any skill needed to deal well and effectively in all aspects of life. Those skills can range anywhere from daily living and self-care skills to social activity, community awareness, and recreation. Creative thinking, communication, and interpersonal/social skills are also worked on. There is no definitive list. Every person has a different list that they see as essential in life. The sky is the limit in this program just like every individual we support is unique.

Supported Independent Living program supports adults with an intellectual disability to live in the community independently. This program supports individuals in dealing with many challenges of daily living. The supports provided may vary depending on the needs of the individual and may range from medical support, housekeeping assistance or budgeting, etc. These individuals live in their own apartments.

Supported Employment Program individuals are supported in a variety of jobs. Through the program, people experience dignity and camaraderie or work. Adults are assisted with every aspect of finding meaningful employment, including job readiness, resume writing, job searches, development with potential employers, and job coaching. Participating in businesses gains hard-working, dedicating employees and develops a greater understanding of people with intellectual disabilities.
